By now we should all be pretty used to wearing face masks outdoors to prevent the spread of Covid-19. It's great that so many of the public are doing the right thing and wearing it, but so many people have been experiencing acne breakouts due to the masks. Have you found this?
Well, we're going to give you a quick break-down of what is causing it and how you can prevent it.
What causes it?
Mask acne is caused by the friction that the mask creates on your skin. The friction irritates the skin surface causing your pores to become blocked. Mixed with the moisture and bacteria under your mask acne starts to form.
How To Prevent It:
Cleanse your skin before and after applying your mask.
Moisturise your skin: Try our Abba Moisturiser, it includes tea tree oil which is a natural disinfectant and fights the bacteria that causes acne.
Don't forget to wear SPF because not all of your face is covered.
Avoid makeup and if you do wear make-up, try to go for light application.
*IMPORTANT* wash or replace your mask daily.
Stay safe! Remember the importance of your mask.
