How to Use Oatmeal as a Softening Hair Mask

Did you know that oatmeal is not only a superb way of caring for your skin, but also your hair? Oatmeal's vitamins and moisturising properties provide a whole host of amazing benefits for the hair. From hydrating and repairing, to increasing softness and shine, it can really improve the condition of your precious crown. Whether you have straight or textured hair, you will love the results that using oatmeal can give you.

Our Oatmeal Mask contains triple-milled oatmeal — rich in fatty acids and polysaccharides that are essential for healthy hair. Here are our favourite ways to use it on the hair!

As a Hair Mask:

  1. Mix our oatmeal with a little water in a bowl to make a paste.

  2. Apply to dry, unwashed hair and scalp, and leave on for 30 minutes. You can wrap your hair in a towel to keep the heat in, increasing the moisturising effect.

  3. Rinse off thoroughly with warm water and wash your hair as normal! We recommend combing through your hair whilst conditioning to help remove any oats that may have been left behind.

As a Hair Rinse:

  1. Add 4 tablespoons of our oatmeal (one at a time) to 3 pints of warm water and mix to help the oats dissolve as much as possible.

  2. After washing and conditioning, part your hair and evenly pour the liquid through, massaging your scalp and running your fingers through from roots to ends.

  3. Rinse out thoroughly and style as usual. You will feel the difference!
