Our Top Tips For A Glowing Summer Body


This glorious weather has us spending time outside in shorts, camis, sundresses and swimsuits! This week, we wanted to give our customers our best advice for achieving and maintaining a beautiful, glowing body, so the Y.Wait team came together to contribute their top skincare tips for summer. Keep reading to check them out!


Cleanse with massaging motions


Washing your body with a gentle and effective cleanser is the first important tip we can give you for glowing skin. You want to start with fresh, clean skin as it is the best base to follow up with your other skincare. Apply your cleanser in the bath or shower and really massage it into the skin across your body for a few minutes before rinsing off. Massaging motions will increase blood flow and improve circulation, boosting your skin's glow.


The Y.Wait team's favourite cleanser is our Moroccan Black Soap natural face and body wash.


This is perfect for all skin types, even sensitive skin, because the ingredients are gentle, moisturising, refreshing and deeply cleansing. We also love our KJ Shampoo & Body Wash, which we recommend for those with particularly dry skin as it contains plenty of moisturising oils.


Gently exfoliate


The next tip is about exfoliating! We all need to use a good body scrub once or twice a week to remove dry patches and dead skin cells and reveal new, glowy skin beneath. Always use a light hand when massaging in your body scrub so that you are not damaging the surface layers of your skin, which can leave it sensitive, red and sore.


We adore our natural Body Scrub range for this step. Our scrubs don't strip the skin of its natural oils, which may cause irritation, instead they really bring that glow by gently exfoliating whilst moisturising. Plus, they smell absolutely divine!


Use a mask!


Did you know you can use masks on your body too? Masks can be applied anywhere on the body that you want to give a little extra TLC to, especially those areas that are particularly dry, hyperpigmented or blemish-prone. You can apply a mask to your neck, décolletage, upper back, shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles - basically anywhere!


For the glow-factor, the Y.Wait team highly recommends our Oatmeal Mask. We all regularly use it, so we had to include it here! It is made of triple-milled natural oatmeal which is rich in fatty acids and polysaccharides. These nutrients provide hydrating benefits, meaning it is a dream for softening and moisturising the skin to give you that lit-from-within glow.



Add 2 tablespoons of our Oatmeal Mask to a bowl, then add water a little at a time until you get a paste consistency. Apply the mixture to the desired area, leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off.


Hydrate and moisturise


Moisturising is perhaps the best tip we can give you for healthy glowing skin - besides making sure you drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, of course!


When you use a moisturiser or body lotion, you protect the surface layers of your skin from irritants, and keep the deeper layers hydrated. This is very important for keeping the skin functioning as it should, and balancing natural oil levels which will help keep your skin glowy and soft.


Moisturise your whole body after you bathe or shower using massaging motions to improve circulation and allow the moisturiser to effectively penetrate your pores. We especially love to use our Whipped Shea Butter Moisturisers for this step, as the texture is smooth and spreads beautifully over the skin, whilst the natural oils work to hydrate and leave you with a pretty, dewy glow.


Bonus tip! Always follow with a good SPF after moisturising, especially if you're headed outside. Do this whatever the season! Protecting your skin from damaging UV rays will maintain your glow and keep your skin youthful and healthy.
